5.1.15 around 9am

Today is the day my new life could even get so much better! My new scooter is being delved btw 10am and 1pm :)! With a top speed of 18mph and a 40 mile range on a full charge this will increase my independence greatly:)! That's been my goal since I became just somewhat coherent after I woke up from the   coma!  I remember being able to mutter a few words and all I would say is "I want a butt and a beer"! Now I've achieved my greatest goal of living totally independently:)! Now I've gutta expand my independence by finding ways to get around! I've used "the ride" for many years now even when in Scituate! Living here I had o get a ride o catch "the ride' though now I get door to door service! I'm really never satisfied though so I had to find a way I could get more independence! DM (a case manager I had at hics) thought a power chair would help increase my independence greatly! I a first rejected the idea thinking I've been confined in a wheelchair before I'm not going backwards and going back to one! Then I researched them online  and found all sorts of mobility products like scooters :)! I was told my insurance may pick up some of the cost so we tried going that way but the only ones they would help supplement he cost of where basically power wheelchairs  and you know this survivor will NOT go backwards! I was interested in this one scooter that was a little sporty and had some style but it cost about $700! I always have done very well with my limited funding from social security disability so I had the $ to purchase it on my own! That has worked out great for me! I quickly leaned about the ups and downs of depending on an electric scooter, battery life, maneuvering over rough terrain, potholes, and keeping from tipping over!    I believe I've mastered driving a scooter now I WANT to increase my independence more so I looked for scooters that would go faster and still do what I need then Lissy turned me on to this great link www.thescooercataloge.com and that is where I got my new scooter from :)! Now I'm just waiting as patiently as I can For UPS to deliver my scooter
